Why Chiropractic?

Modern chiropractic: safe, effective, evidence-based care for injury rehabilitation and prevention.

The health of the human nervous system is directly proportional to the health of the spine.

Expertise and Evidence-Based Care

Chiropractors are experts in the treatment of functional conditions of the spine and the musculoskeletal system. Integrating research across all manual therapies, modern chiropractic is safe, effective and modified to suit individual needs.

Movement has been shown to be the most important factor in successful treatment of musculoskeletal injury, both integrated movement of the body and the return to cultivating an active life.

Chiropractic care differs in its approach to other modalities in that the primary focus is the rehabilitation of the nervous system in its capacity to generate healthy movement. As well as employing more standard manual therapy and exercises to address damaged tissue, chiropractors utilise spinal manipulation. The most common complaint we see is pain related to tight muscles, its important to understand it’s the brain which is generating this. Spinal manipulation works by restoring motion to the spine which subsequently improves the quality of movement information flowing into the brain. Instantly the brain will recalibrate resting muscle tone to a healthier relaxed level and movement is healthier and more co-ordinated.

Safe and Personalized Chiropractic Care for All Ages

Chiropractors are licensed regulated professionals who have completed a 5-year master’s degree in the manual treatment of spinal and musculoskeletal conditions. Evidence has shown that relying on one type of intervention is inferior to a multimodal approach. Employing a combination of spinal manipulation, dry needling and deep tissue work, muscle and fascia release techniques, brain based and conditioning exercises, postural training, customized foot orthotics and ergonomic advice, we give you the best chance at resolving your injury.

Chiropractic can help people of all ages, for the young and mature treatment will be modified in intensity to suit the individual. There are many gentle interventions that are very effective for those apprehensive and not suited to spinal manipulation. Prevention is better than cure, once an issue is under control; coming in periodically to maintain good movement of the spine helps reduce injury and keeps you moving well and feeling great.
